WOOFS & WAGS Pet Dog Training was first established in 2000, initially just running puppy classes. In 2001 I was awarded my Certificate IV in Dog Behavioural Training (Canine Good Citizen TM) and in 2004 added classes for older dogs and private lessons in to the training options.
My aim is to provide training that is fun and effective, using gentle reward based methods so that dogs and owners alike can enjoy learning together. Children are also welcome to train their dog in class if they are old enough and able to do so. The focus is on early and ongoing socialisation and training to ensure your dog grows up to be happy, relaxed and well behaved in a variety of situations both at home and when out and about.
With different levels of training you can always find something that is relevant to you and your dog; this helps to expand your skills and keeps up with your dog's socialisation, provides mental stimulation and helps avoid or address any issues you may be experiencing before they become a real problem.
All friendly dogs are welcome to attend classes regardless of age or breed. If you have a new puppy, or an adolescent dog who hasn't attended class before or have just adopted an older dog, there is a class for you!
If you are experiencing behaviour problems with your dog, or just prefer to train your dog at home, private lessons are available to help.
The training methods I teach in class are the same as the ones I use with my own dogs, so I have plenty of experience training all the way up to competition level. With Skye, Comet and Jaffa, we compete in several dog sports, agility being our main "thing" but also Rally Obedience, Dances with Dogs and Obedience. Skye has gained 13 titles, Comet 15 and Jaffa 5 across these sports.
